China Solar PV News Snippets: DAH Solar At TaiyangNews Virtual Conference & More

Sep 13, 2024

Copied DAH Solar at TaiyangNews Advanced Solar Module Applications 2024 Conference Franck Tafani, DAH Solar’s Country Manager France, will be speaking at the TaiyangNews Advanced Solar Module Applications 2024 Virtual Conference next week. The conference explores the latest trends, technologies and strategies shaping the future of advanced PV applications. Tafani will be speaking on the topic: Optimized Module Solutions for Residential Systems: Full Screen & SolarUnit from DAH Solar. The Virtual Conference is scheduled for 09:30 to 13:00 CEST on September 18, 2024. For the agenda and free registration, please click: https://taiyangnews.info/our-events/advanced-solar-module-applications-2024 Trina Solar says TOPCon to lead PV industry for next 5 years In a release from Trina Solar, the company’s VP, Dr. Chen Yifeng, asserts that TOPCon solar module technology will dominate the PV industry over the next 5 years, with a market share of 70-80% by 2025. He emphasized TOPCon’s high yield, reliability, low-cost production, and industrial synergy outperform rival technologies like XBC. Betting big on the technology, Trina Solar says its TOPCon-based Vertex N 625W modules excel in energy yield and low degradation. Yifeng foresees n-type TOPCon-based perovskite-silicon tandem cells expected to lead the industry post-2029, potentially achieving over 30% efficiency in mass production. Trina Solar recently announced that its Dafeng base in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, has passed TÜV Rheinland's Zero Waste and Zero Carbon factory certification audits (see China Solar PV News Snippets ). JA Solar’s CTO highlights TOPCon’s future dominance At the 2024 TOPCon Solar Cell Technology Development Trend Seminar last month, JA Solar's CTO, Dr. Zi Ouyang, emphasized TOPCon technology's efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness at the 2024 TOPCon Solar Cell Development Seminar. He said he expects TOPCon is expected to remain the mainstream PV technology for the next 5 years, with a projected 70-80% market share. He added that TOPCon is going to be dominant vis-à-vis HJT and BC, given its process maturity and lower upgrade costs. He said that TOPCon's potential in tandem cells could push perovskite efficiency beyond 30%, adding that TOPCon is more suited as the bottom cell in perovskite tandem cells. Astronergy’s TOPCon modules pass UVID resistance tests Chint Group company and solar module manufacturer Astronergy has announced that its ASTRO N n-type TOPCon PV modules have passed rigorous UVID tests. The modules showed only 0.7% degradation under UV60 exposure, exhibiting power generation stability over the long term. UVID (UV-Induced Degradation) causes module performance degradation under UV irradiation, which is a key challenge for module reliability. Astronergy says its advanced film deposition and LIF tech boost UV resistance. It added that ASTRO N modules also performed well under UV120, showing a degradation of just 1.2%. Featuring TOPCon 4.0 cell tech, the company says these modules ensure over 87.4% power output after 30 years. Astronergy recently announced that its Jiuquan facility has been awarded a zero-carbon factory certification by TÜV Rheinland (see China Solar PV News Snippets ). Astronergy wins 53 MW distributed PV contract at RMB 0.69/W Astronergy has been announced as a winner of Shanxi Coal and Chemical Tongchuan Mining Company’s solar module bid for the 52.93 MW Phase I of its 90 MW distributed photovoltaic (PV) power plant. Astronergy’s bid price of RMB 0.69 /W ($0.0969/W) was the winning bid, followed by LONGi at RMB 0.715 /W ($0.1004/W), and Reesun Solar at RMB 0.71 /W ($0.0997/W). Astronergy will need to deliver the modules between September 30 and October 30, 2024. The tender announcement did not disclose detailed module requirements. BOE launches perovskite thin-film solar cell pilot line Hefei BOE Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the global semiconductor display manufacturer BOE, has started receiving equipment for its perovskite solar cell pilot line. Established in March 2024, the facility consists of an experimental line, (including a laboratory) and a pilot line project. The company is investing RMB 871 million ($121 million) in the facility located in Hefei City, Anhui Province, which will aid in research and development. BOE Optoelectronics stated that the pilot line will focus on optimizing mass production processes, gather the know-how for rapid scaling of the technology, and building a 1.2 x 2.4 m perovskite thin-film solar cell production line capable of producing about 912,500 thin-film cells per year. DAS Solar's flexible PV mounting structure passes wind tunnel test Solar cell and module supplier DAS Solar has announced that its flexible PV mounting structure has successfully completed the wind load and wind-induced vibration response tests. Conducted by Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the wind tunnel test analyzed the wind load distribution characteristics and wind-induced vibration response of 2 flexible PV mounting structures with different scale ratios. The research also developed a detailed full-scale model and a finite element model to analyze wind load interference effects and the dynamic properties of the flexible PV structure, with wind speeds reaching 46 m/s. The company said that its modules demonstrated excellent wind resistance, structural integrity and long-term durability under extreme conditions.
