New leadership to help French insurers reduce road risk and improve claims efficiency September 4, 2024, Cambridge, MA — Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), the world’s largest telematics service provider, announced today the expansion of its European operations with the appointment of Rima Khetab as Director of Sales for France & Benelux. With over 17 years of executive experience in M&A, banking, and international business development, Rima is a seasoned insurance software expert. She has held leadership roles at Solera, Imaweb, and Atos, where she specialized in international sales and partnership development for motor insurance and OEM ecosystems. Rima’s appointment comes just three months after CMT announced new leadership in Italy. “CMT is growing aggressively in Europe. We are partnering with the leading auto insurers in Germany, Poland, and Croatia, have introduced new product and sales leadership in Italy, and are now welcoming a new sales leader in France. And, we’re just getting started,” said William V. Powers, CMT co-founder and CEO. “Today, France is facing higher premiums, higher repair costs, and widespread distracted driving. Our new leadership will help France address these challenges with the next generation of mobility solutions.” Engaging drivers daily is critical in France, where insurance premiums have risen over 3% in the last year. Claims frequency has also grown, with over 3,000 road fatalities in 2023. Claims severity has accelerated, with repair costs increasing by 7% annually, driven by rising parts costs. Distracted driving is also a problem, with 78% of French drivers admitting to using their phone while driving. CMT’s customers are actively combating these trends with connected insurance programs, reducing claims frequency by up to 24% and saving an average of €500 per claim with telematics-driven FNOL data. CMT studies show that drivers engaged in a connected insurance program can reduce their distracted driving by 20%. As premiums rise, many French drivers are seeking relief. Surveys show that 61% of French drivers would use a connected insurance program, like those powered by CMT, to prove their risk levels and reduce their premiums. Ninety-two percent of French drivers think auto insurance should use driving behaviour as a key pricing factor. About Cambridge Mobile Telematics Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) is the world’s largest telematics service provider. Its mission is to make the world’s roads and drivers safer. The company’s AI-driven platform, DriveWell Fusion®, gathers sensor data from millions of IoT devices — including smartphones, proprietary Tags, connected vehicles, dashcams, and third-party devices — and fuses them with contextual data to create a unified view of vehicle and driver behaviour. Auto insurers, automakers, commercial mobility companies, and the public sector use insights from CMT’s platform to power risk assessment, safety, claims, and driver improvement programs. Headquartered in Cambridge, MA, with offices in Budapest, Chennai, Seattle, Tokyo, and Zagreb, CMT measures and protects tens of millions of drivers worldwide every day. Share this
