Sechs schleswig-Holsteinische Privatinvestoren aus dem Kreis der Baltic Business Angels Schleswig-Holstein e.V. melden soeben den Vollzug eines gemeinsamen Business Angel-Investments in das israelische MedTech StartUp NYX Technologies Ltd. Das Investment wird über einen Kapital-Pool im Wege einer gemeinsamen GbR unter Führung des Flensburger Kaufmanns Sven Kleinschmidt syndiziert. Erstmals in der Geschichte des seit März 2018 eingetragenen Angel-Netzwerks unterzeichneten mit diesem Investment sechs seiner insgesamt über 50 Mitglieder einen im US-amerikanischen Startup-Ökosystem weit verbreiteten sogenannten SAFE-Vertrag, der mit einem in Europa vorläufig noch gebräuchlicheren Wandeldarlehen als Finanzinstrument vergleichbar ist. Er bietet sowohl den Gründerinnen und Gründern als auch den Investorinnen und Investoren eine große Flexibilität hinsichtlich der erst zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt möglichen Unternehmens-Bewertung. NYX Technologies bietet den weltweit ungezählten unter chronischer Schlaflosigkeit und deren Folgeerkrankungen leidenden Patientinnen und Patienten eine nicht-medikamentenbasierte Lösung und adressiert zusätzlich Parkinson- und Krebspatienten. Das System besteht aus einem Wearable, das auf der Basis von EEG-Sensoren KI-gesteuert Neurostimulation betreibt. Über eine App setzen die Patientinnen und Patienten vor Schlafantritt ihr Gerät in Gang. Die KI analysiert die Gehirnaktivität, stimuliert sie und passt die Stimulation während des Schlafs laufend auf Basis der – lokal – empfangenen Daten an. Soweit patientenseitig gewünscht, können Gesundheitsversorger über eine gesicherte Fernüberwachung den Fortgang der Behandlung beobachten und gegebenenfalls intervenieren. Der personalisierte, nicht-invasive Ansatz von NYX befindet sich in den USA in der letzten Phase klinischer Erprobung und wird auch in Deutschland zugänglich sein. Bei den Baltic Business Angels erfreuen sich Investment-Syndikate großer Beliebtheit. Durch das gemeinsame Investieren können hinreichend große Investitionsvolumina gestemmt werden, um die in Folge des Wettbewerbs aus Amerika und Fernost zunehmend steigenden und gerade von den interessantesten Startups nachgefragten hohen Investitionsbeträge stemmen zu können. So investierten fünf andere Business Angels aus dem Kreis der BBASH beispielsweise bereits im Jahr 2020 gemeinsam in das Itzehoer Fraunhofer-Spin-off OQmented GmbH. Aus diesem Investorenpool wurden allein für OQmented zwischenzeitlich über 4 Mio. € in das mittlerweile auch im Silicon Valley ansässige Startup investiert.
