Michelangelo Volpi | Mike joined Index in 2009 to help establish the firm’s San Francisco office with Danny Rimer. He currently serves on the boards of Aurora, Big Switch Networks, Cockroach Labs, Confluent, Elastic [NYSE:ESTC], Kong, Sonos [NASDAQ:SONO], Zuora [NYSE:ZUO] and Wealthfront. Mike was previously a director of Blue Bottle Coffee [VTX:NESN], Hortonworks [NYSE:CLDR] and Pure Storage [NYSE:PSTG]. He also serves on the board of Fiat Chrysler Automotive [NYSE:FCAU]. Prior to Index, Mike held a number of executive positions including Chief Strategy Officer and SVP/GM of the routing business at Cisco. During his 13-year tenure at Cisco, his team was responsible for the acquisition of over 70 companies, including several multi-billion deals. Cisco’s acquisition strategy has been widely regarded as an industry model for technology mergers and acquisitions. While at Cisco, Mike also managed a P&L in excess of $10B in revenues. Mike has a B.S in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford University, and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
